"Getting to know the guy's"
In the late 70's, The Chordsmen Quartet was formed by three brothers, Thomas, Gary and Keith Jennings. The group traveled for 15 years all over SC, NC and Ga. spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in churches and concerts. As life goes, changes came and the group had to leave the road. Now after all of these years Jerry and Harold Jennings, Thomas's two sons, "Renewed" the family group in 2013 and God has been blessing them way beyond their wildest dreams. Starting with nothing but the two of them and a strong commitment and love for The Lord, they are now an award winning ministry with two other gentlemen that have the heart for ministry. Jerry says " We may not be the best singers in the world, but nobody loves The Lord and loves to minister more than we do."
Their songs are chosen with prayer and deep heart felt emotions for their programs and CDs each time they record. Their bass singer, Harold Jennings says, "A song must minister to us first in order for it to minister to our audience. We are more than just four guys standing up to sing, we want to minister and tell people about a living Savior that can change their life if they would just believe by faith and trust in him". On their new project, "On A Mission", the songs are sung from the heart with feeling and respect for God's love and the message in His word.
The Chordsmen have been honored to sing with some great singers and have made some great friends in many areas. In 2015 they were voted Male Qt of The Year in the Lighthouse GMA out of Hickory NC, and we're invited to sing on the NQC Artist Showcase at the convention in Pigone Forge TN. Then in 2016 they are nominated for Group and Male Quartet of the year and was voted Male Quartet of the Year in the LGMA and sang at Song Fest 2016 in Spartanburg SC in September. Then in 2017 they were nominated again in 9 categories with Harold being voted Bass Singer of the year. We were also voted Quartet of the Year with the SSE Crimson Gospel Music Awards. Randy Leslie, the groups baritone singer and bass player says, "Our goal is not to glorify us, but to glorify God in our songs and in our personal lives to the best of our ability."
God has also blessed them with an office that will be opened part-time to further their ministry. The tenor singer, Stephen Williams, will be managing the office and doing most of the contacts and bookings. With the amount of calls and mailings to be done, this is a huge blessing. Stephen says, " This is something I really enjoy doing. I love to talk to new people and talk about all aspects of the ministry. This gives me an opportunity to be on a personal level with the contact and get familiar with the venue. I feel God has placed me where I can be used to the fullest of my ability."
Please be in prayer for the guys as they spread their ministry into different areas in the coming years. If you are interested in booking the group please contact us on the contact page here on the website and we will get back to you as soon as possible. May God bless you and your families.
